Lacrymanera Riserva 2014 is the highest expression of our Lacryma Christi of Vesuvius.
An award-winning gold medal in famous international competitions, Lacrymanera is a unique wine, the maximum expression of the excellence of this territory. Here, at the foot of the world’s most famous volcano, thousands of years ago, the Greeks had already sensed the potential of this territory which has the optimal conditions for the cultivation of wine.
The production of Lacrymanera takes place with the use of particular grapes, such as Piedirosso, Aglianico, Sciascinoso and other native Vesuvian varieties, coming exclusively from the vineyards of the Ambrosio family. We carefully choose only the best bunches to make our wine unique and inimitable.
The gold medal for the ‘Wine Guide 2018‘ went right to Lacrymanera 2014, Lacryma Christi of Vesuvius Doc. Coldiretti Campania said in a note: “The quality work is rewarded – it stresses – made by an entrepreneur who deeply loves his land.”

The unique peculiarity of Vigne Ambrosio is that it stands on a clod of land dating back to 79 BC, the year in which a destructive eruption of Vesuvius completely covered the ancient Herculaneum and Pompeii, of which the event today testify to the sites of the Archaeological Park of Pompeii and the Archaeological Excavations of Herculaneum. 15 years ago, with an important excavation operation made by Francesco Ambrosio, Ferdinando’s father, this sod of land was brought to light, favoring the rise of Vigne Ambrosio who, thanks to a work of care and dedication, crowned the “Gold 90” award.
Another important factor, and a supporter factor in the success of Vigne Ambrosio, is the organic farming of vineyards, for which no chemical herbicides are used, which would affect the quality and naturalness of the wine product, but organic fertilizers with the total exclusion of genetically modified organisms (Ogm).
